German Giant Audi have revealed their brand new 296 brake horsepower s3 sportback before it’s official unveiling which will be at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The official details and pictures have been released of the brand new Audi model, ahead of the world debut. Audi have already unveiled the S3 which is a three door model, and the five door Sportback is said to be powered by the same turbocharged 2.0 litre engine. A standard 6 speed manuar gearbox comes with the model, though a 6 speed dual clutch s tronic gearbox can be specified, all S3s are fitted with quattro four wheel drive.
What does the new Audi S3 Sportback consist of?
Fitted with the dual clutch gearbox the S3 sportback can go from 0-62 in 5 seconds, whilst with the manual it will take 5.5. The top speed for both is said to be electronically limited to 155 miles per hour. Audi are claiming a figure of 41 mpg for this S Tronic model, which is an improved fuel economy over the old S3 Sportback, for the six speed manual Audi are claiming a 40.4 mpg.
Bigger brakes have been fitted to the S3 and it also has 25 mm lower sport suspension than the standard usual set up, which is set to help improve with handling. The S3 sportback is said to have LED daytime running lights and an aluminium look S gille with four exhausts in the rear diffuser. A large rear spoiler and grey coloured wing mirrors are the finishing touches on the look.
The Audi model will be available from September
The new Audi S3 Sportback model will go on sale this coming September and prices are said to be starting from around £34,000. The first chance to see this model in the flesh is at the Geneva Motor Show this March.
